Stricter regulations to be applied on Point Pleasant beaches

On Tuesday night August 4, 2020, a divided borough council night passed an ordinance aimed at curtailing misbehavior on beaches in the borough.

A ban on coolers larger than 13 inches in height or width is imposed. Similarly the beach requires cooler checkers to be over the age of 18, among other changes.

Mayor Paul Kanitra along with council members Doug Vitale, Arlene Testa and Caryn Byrnes voted yes for the stricter regulations. Few of the council members namely Andy Cortes, Bob Santanello and Tom Migut voting against the ordinance.
